Eurovision from A to Z will not record the 2026 Series

Hi everyone, and welcome back or rather, thanks for bearing with us.

You have probably noticed we have not released our 2026 Series special episodes commenting and ranking the songs yet. In these moments, we should be recording our predictions, and the truth is that we just can’t bring ourselves to record it.

This season, something has felt different. Not the usual excitement or the friendly debates but something closer to apathy, a lack of interest that we have never experienced before. And of course we have asked ourselves why. Part of it is personal: our own countries withdrawing has taken a lot of the emotional connection away. More than that, the presence of Israel in the contest has changed things.

Eurovision and everything around it has always been our passion, our safe space, our escape valve from real life and our everyday problems. Now it has become a reflection of many of these. EBU double standards and greed have shamelessly allowed moral misery, astroturfing and political propaganda while hypocritically denying it at the same time. They have given blanche carte to that delegation while silencing critical voices. Yes, all this happens on the same stage where we simply used to enjoy glitter and music.

So no, we don’t feel like making predictions and rankings. Not this year. Not when our passion project feels like homework. Not when our favourite festival of joy and music has turned into a mirror of the miseries of what is happening in the world today. Not when the festival is not united by music any more.

But we still care deeply about this contest. It’s not only about a recap of who won, the artists’ positions or other facts about the contest. We will analyse how we got to this situation, and also we will look about: What will happen to the Eurovision Song Contest in the near future? Can Eurovision find its way back?

We hope you’ll join us for that conversation when the time comes. Thank you for sticking with us.
